The air ambulance was called to a serious crash involving a bus that left three people needing hospital treatment. 

Emergency services were called to the A1071 at Polstead, near Hadleigh, at about 5pm on Tuesday

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Five ambulances, three ambulance office vehicles and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Polstead yesterday evening following reports of a bus involved in road traffic collision.

"Eleven patients were assessed at the scene and three were transported to Ipswich Hospital by road ambulance.”

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service also sent three crews to the scene but they were later stood down. 

The condition of the patients in hospital is not yet known.
