Entries for the EADT Business Awards 2024 are now open!

Businesses of all shapes and sizes will be recognised at the EADT Business Awards, with the Large Business of the Year category, sponsored by Larking Gowen, focusing on businesses with a turnover of more than £5 million that demonstrate all-round excellence.

“Large businesses make a huge contribution to making Suffolk a great place to work and live,” said Graham Mummery, corporate partner at Larking Gowen. “I’ve seen such a wide variety of businesses, from different sectors, varying in size and using multiple management styles.”

But regardless of size or sector, all businesses have faced their fair share of challenges recently, making opportunities to shout about your successes, like the EADT Business Awards, all the more important.

“Times continue to be turbulent, so if you are fortunate to still be in a position where you are thriving and innovating, then now is not the time to gatekeep! Shouting about our achievements will strengthen and help the local economy and benefit us all,” said Mr Mummery.

The awards process provides a chance to reflect on where you’ve been and where you’re going as a business. And for the lucky winner, Mr Mummery said that the title of Large Business of the Year is “a powerful endorsement locally”.

“It shows potential customers and competitors alike that you stand out, and are a force in the community,” he said. “It’s a great brand asset and can only further encourage loyalty from your customers and teams.”

The winner should demonstrate a defined set of values that include support for staff, something that Mr Mummery said is essential to help employees feel seen and valued, leading to “increased loyalty and a positive working environment”.

A clear sustainability strategy is also key. Mr Mummery explained: “It’s only a matter of time before legislation starts to dictate how we do business in relation to the environment, so businesses should be getting ahead of the curve now to avoid getting left behind.”
