The EADT Business Awards 2024 are now open for entries from businesses of all shapes and sizes.

The Customer Excellence Award will go to a business that consistently goes the extra mile for its customers. Greater Anglia is once again sponsoring this category for 2024 and judge Jonathan Denby, head of corporate affairs at Greater Anglia, is eager to celebrate the best of customer service in Suffolk.

“We believe that high standards of customer service are central to the success of any organisation and they are at the heart of our own strategy,” Mr Denby said.

“It was evident from the 2023 entrants that many Suffolk businesses place excellent customer service at the heart of their strategies for success and are committed to providing a consistently high-quality service for their customers or clients.”

This year, Mr Denby said he will be looking for “businesses that can demonstrate a proactive and effective customer service strategy that is delivering excellent customer satisfaction results”.

This is an attribute that Mr Denby said “marks out the best businesses”.

“It enables companies to attract customers and retain them,” he explained, “thereby enabling the business to grow and succeed.”

Entrants should also demonstrate how they measure and integrate customer feedback. Mr Denby explained why this is so important for business success: “Only by constantly checking customer satisfaction and feedback can you be sure what your customers think and thereby evolve and improve your plans to provide a better service for them,” he said, “which will both increase satisfaction and help your business succeed by attracting and retaining more customers.”

Ultimately, the winner of this award will be a business that places its customers at the heart of everything it does. The award will not only act as a “high profile, independent endorsement of their customer service strategy and approach” according to Mr Denby, it will also “reinforce and build their business’ reputation and potentially underpin even greater success in the future.”
