A supermarket has remained open following an oil spillage in the car park this morning.

Earlier today, witnesses reported being turned away from the Tesco Superstore in Cedars Link Road in Stowmarket after an oil spillage closed the car park.

It is believed the spillage covered the disabled and parent and child parking bays.

A spokesman for Tesco said: "Our Stowmarket Superstore is open as normal, but there is currently a reduced number of spaces in the car park.

"We are working to solve the issue and apologise for the inconvenience."

It is believed the oil spill was caused by a third party.
