Proposals for four homes to be built on land adjacent to a vacant pub have been refused due to access concerns.
Mid Suffolk District Council had previously received plans to build properties next to the former Shepherd and Dog premises in Earl Stonham.
The land, which is currently not in use, sits just off the A1120 between Stowupland and the A140.
The houses were proposed to be three or four-bed family homes with space for detached garages and well-proportioned gardens.
Planning documents showed proposals included creating individual driveways off the A1120 as access points.
However, concerns had been raised by Earl Stonham Parish Council that additional access points would "increase the risk of accidents" on the road.
"Access onto the A1120 continues to be a hazard due to poor visibility, so additional driveways would increase the risk of accidents," the council said.
It added: "The sewerage systems is already very poor so additional housing will overload the system and will need substantial improvements before any development should even be considered."
