A man appeared in court on Friday after he was caught with a large amount of drugs and cash on his person.

Bury St Edmunds policing teams, along with specialist unit Kestrel, stopped a male on Northgate Street in Bury St Edmunds.

He was swiftly detained under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Officers found him to be carrying a large quantity of cash, as well as nine bags of white powder believed to be drug-related.

He also had a phone on him that officers discovered contained messages relating to drug offences. 

The male was charged by the officers and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 26.
