A primary school in Suffolk is celebrating after retaining an Outstanding rating from Ofsted.

Elveden Church of England Primary Academy was inspected in early December, where, under the new framework, was seen to be an outstanding school, seven years after the previous inspection.

The report found that the school is a "highly inclusive school" and "without fail, pupils are respectful, well-mannered and polite."

Inspectors also noted that "there is no ceiling to what pupils can achieve" and the curriculum was praised as "highly ambitious in all subject".

Mrs Lorna Rourke, headteacher at the school, said in a letter to parents: "We are absolutely delighted and it reflects the hard work of staff, pupils and governors and the continued support from our families.

"The framework is vastly different to the framework on which we were inspected in 2016, so to continue to be outstanding in most areas is a testament to the continued drive for school improvement from all stakeholders."

All areas of the school was rated as outstanding, except for early years, which was seen as good.

The report said: "Children in early years are eager to learn. Adults create a warm, caring environment.

"Children learn through a mix of adult-led activities and play."

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities was praised as well, with the report highlighting the "high quality support", and the school "works closely with parents to ensure precise plans are in place for pupils with SEND."

In the letter from the school to parents, Mrs Rourke goes on to say: "A huge thank you, for the feedback we received on Ofsted Parent View.

"To have 46 responses alongside 29 free-text parent comments, with such hugely positive feedback was incredibly pleasing and something that, as a staff, we are hugely honoured to receive.

"We would like to thank you all for your continued support of the school and for working with us."
