A new Turkish restaurant, bar and grill has opened in Stowmarket in the town's former Prezzo.

Lezzihh opened to an "absolutely amazing" launch last Friday, serving a variety of Turkish food.

Initial plans to take over the former Prezzo unit in Ipswich Street started in September, which is when the refurbishment started.

Owners Yusuf Zengi and Ersim Aydim have opened two previous Turkish eateries – one in Newmarket and another in Ely.

Ms Aydim said: "There's nothing like it here, the town needed it.

"We wanted it to feel warm and welcoming.

"The launch evening was really good, we had many people saying they enjoyed it and will come back again.

"And if they come once, they will not forget, and they will keep coming back, we guarantee that.

"The taste we do, you wouldn't get at other Turkish restaurants, I'm very confident of that."

The restaurant offers a full menu including children's food, cocktails, brunch and lunch options.

Lezzihh is also themed into different sections, including a 'Bad Girls' area, a 'Date Night' area and a 'Blue' area.

They also have plans to host events, such as weddings and Christenings.

Ms Aydim added: "On the opening day, we had people from Ipswich come, people from Colchester, and they were willing to drive a long way.

"We asked them whether it was worth the drive, and they said yes, it was.

"On Sunday, our official opening day, it was amazing.

"We had great feedback, no one said anything negative so that was amazing."

The restaurant has hired many people through the opening, including 10 people in the kitchen, and around eight people front of house.
