The head chef at a popular Suffolk restaurant has won a prestigious national award. 

James Carn, who owns and is head chef at Lark in Bury St Edmunds has been named the Chef to Watch at the Good Food Guide awards. 

It comes after the restaurant that is also owned by Mr Carn and his wife Sophia was named the only Bib Gourmand destination in Suffolk

The pair, who opened the business less than a year ago, are no strangers to national recognition after their restaurant was named by top celebrity food critic Jay Rayner as one of the best places to visit.

Speaking about his visit, Mr Carn said: "His visit was a great experience for the whole team and he is very welcome to come back any time.

"When we opened the restaurant we came up with a plan of what we wanted to achieve in our first year, and we have exceeded what we hoped for.

"We are so pleased with our decision to open our little business."
