The A12 is to remain closed overnight after a crash.
According to National Highways the southbound carriageway of the road is closed near Colchester.
Emergency barrier repairs are being carried out as a result of the crash.
National Highways confirmed at about 6pm on Wednesday the road will remain shut overnight due to the repairs.
