A 17-year-old boy who died in a crash near a Suffolk town has been named.

Emergency services were called to the collision, involving a Ford Fiesta, in Sudbury Road, between Sudbury and Bulmer, at about 11.15pm on Saturday.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, died at the scene.

He has now been named as Sam Parsons.

Cornard United Football Club have issued a tribute to Sam, who played for their under-18s side.

It read: "Cornard United are saddened to have to announce that Sam Parsons tragically lost his life late on Saturday evening in a car accident.

"Thoughts and love go out to the family at this incredibly difficult time and the club offers its full support."

His dad managed the under-18s team.

A minute's silence will be held at Cornard United's home game against Whitton United on Tuesday evening.
