A driver has been arrested on suspicion of operating a car while under the influence of drugs on the A12.

On Wednesday morning, Halesworth police stopped a driver on the A12 in the Marlesford area, near Wickham Market. 

Officers had cause to conduct a drug wipe on the driver at the side of the road.

When the test showed that the driver was likely to have drugs in their system, they were arrested. 

Drug driving is one of the 'fatal four'.

These include speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, using a phone while driving and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
