Police asked motorists not to travel yesterday after heavy rain brought flooding to parts of Suffolk leaving many roads impassable.
Heavy overnight rain on Saturday and further downpours on Sunday caused significant flooding after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain.
Suffolk Highways advised drivers to take extra care when travelling and to avoid areas affected by flood water including Tut Hill, Fornham All Saints; Wash Lane, Combs Ford; Bridge Street in Alpheton; Stackwood Road, Polstead; College Road in Wyverstone; Thorpe Hill in Burstall; Farnham Road in Snape; Church Road in Bacton; Bury Road in Lawshall; and The Street in Chattisham.
Lower Road in Coddenham was closed in both directions between Cooper Road and Church Road with drivers asked to turn around due to flooding.

Train travel was also disrupted by flooding on the tracks which caused trains to be delayed or cancelled.
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge trains have to run at reduced speeds on all lines.
"Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised."
The 12.20 train from Ipswich to Cambridge was forced to terminate at Bury St Edmunds.
All lines running between Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge reopened just before 5pm.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews across Suffolk attended numerous incidents relating to flooding.
Eight flood warnings remain in place for expected flooding in Haverhill, Stoke-by Nayland, Hadleigh, Stowmarket, Needham Market, Woodbridge, Halesworth and Wrentham.
The Environment Agency said: "Some flooding of homes and businesses is likely in response to the rain that has fallen overnight and this morning.
"Flood water is dangerous. Don't put yourself or others at risk."
Thirteen flood alerts also remain in place for possible flooding in Bungay, Halesworth, Yoxford, Hacheston, Wickham Market, Claydon, Stowmarket, Dedham Vale, Bures, Sudbury, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.
