An emergency closure has been put in place on a busy Suffolk road.

The B1117 Halesworth Road in Heveningham was closed due to surface water flooding on Thursday evening.

Suffolk Highways has advised the closure will remain in place "until further notice" and advised people to find an alternative route.

The news follows a number of other closures due to flooding across the county.

A lane was closed on the A12 in Woodbridge earlier this evening while teams cleared surface water from the road.

20 tankers of surface water were also pumped from Bardwell Road in Barningham, near Bury St Edmunds, this afternoon.

Part of the A14 in Newmarket was also closed due to the rain.
