A Suffolk community has come together to create a rainbow using unused fabrics for a community opera which is set to be staged this summer.
Work started on the 'Leiston Rainbow' at Leiston Film Theatre on Friday and the colourful prop is set to be used as part of the opera Noye's Fludde (Noah's Flood), which will be staged at the outdoor Thorington Theatre, nestled in woodland in Saxmundham.

The production, which will be staged on Saturday July 13, will bring together choirs, musicians, local villages and schools.
In the play, the rainbow appears at the end as God's reassurance to Noah that the human family would never again be threatened with total annihilation by flood.

Friday's craft workshop, organised by Sizewell C, saw scores of people arrive at the Leiston venue with unused fabrics and materials to help build a fabric rainbow, experiment with sustainable materials that will appear in the production and find out more about how to get involved in the July performance.
