There is a police presence in the centre of Ipswich this morning.
A number of police vehicles have been seen in Old Cattle Market.
Officers are also patrolling the scene and the bus station has been cordoned off.
Ipswich Buses has confirmed it is unable to serve Friars Street, Dogs Head Street or Upper Brook Street until further notice.
UPDATE: Man seriously injured in attack
Services 92, 93, 97, 118 and 119 will be entering and leaving the bus station via Turret Lane.
The nature of the incident is not yet known but Suffolk Constabulary has been contacted for comment.
