Drivers will be faced with an hour long diversion as a main road is closed for three days.

Suffolk County Council is closing a section of the A143 between Haverhill and Stradishall for surface patching. 

It will be fully closed from Wednesday, March 20 to Saturday, March 23 with work being carried out overnight between 7pm and 5am.

The official diversion route is 42 miles long and is expected to take an hour for drivers to complete.

Nearby, drivers near Sudbury are being warned to plan ahead before the A131 is closed overnight for 10 days. 

Essex County Council will be carrying out essential roadworks between 8pm and 5am.
