A man who had been charged with assault and destruction of property has been sentenced to 33 months in prison.
Steven Alexander, of Commercial Road in Lowestoft, was charged with four criminal counts in August 2021.
The 44-year-old was charged with criminal damage, common assault, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and destroying and damaging property.
On August 12, 2021 police were called to the Lowestoft's Whitton estate at 4.15pm following reports of an incident in a garden in Edgerton Road.
The police were concerned for Alexander's welfare as several teams were called onto the scene.
He was detained and taken to Great Yarmouth police investigation centre for questioning.
Alexander was bailed before he appeared at the Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on September 8.
The court decided his case would be sent to the Ipswich Crown Court and Alexander was sentenced on Monday.
Alexander was sentenced to 33 months in prison, at least half of which he will have to spend in custody.
