Two Magpies Group is continuing its expansion across Norfolk and Suffolk with the opening of its 10th site.

The bakery chain is launching its latest bakery and café in the old Barclays Bank in Market Hill, Framlingham, on Friday, April 5.

At more than 3,000sq ft the latest outlet will be the largest in the chain - which began in Southwold.

Chief executive and owner Steve Magnall said the choice of the latest site was in response to demand.

“We often have lovely emails and letters from people all over East Anglia asking when we will be coming to their town and many of those have come from Framlingham," he said.

“We have been truly humbled by all the well wishers and the many positive messages of support we have had already.

"Our staff and most of our customers are local and we try wherever we can to use local produce, so I am delighted to be opening another branch in one of our beautiful Suffolk towns.”

The group has also refurbished its Darsham site to create more space so it can cater for more customers.

The Framlingham café will sell the bakery's breads, cakes and pastries - including its sourdough.

“Our sourdough has just four ingredients; flour, water, salt and the natural levain. Any bread that has more than four ingredients is not pure bread and will be full of additives and preservatives,” said Steve.
