If you’re still hoping to book a holiday with a bit of sea and sun this summer, why not save some money and keep things simple with a staycation on Norfolk’s coast?

Richardson’s Hemsby Beach Holiday Park, rated five-stars by VisitEngland, is a great base from which to explore the gorgeous beaches, seaside attractions, food and drink stops and family-friendly attractions of the Norfolk coast. Here are some top tips to help you plan your perfect summer holiday with Richardson’s.

Before you go

Wondering where to stay? From luxury lodges to stylish caravans, Richardson’s Hemsby Beach Holiday Park has a wide range of accommodation options to choose from. Many property types allow pets and, for a touch of luxury, have hot tub and al fresco dining options.

Included in the lineup is a range of brand-new dog-friendly accommodation for 2024 – the three-bedroom Platinum Plus lodges and the two-bedroom Platinum caravans.

Set in a secluded corner of the park, both these options are perfect for a family of six and benefit from a smart TV, free superfast Wi-Fi and two spacious decks complete with hot tub and a secure gate.

You can tour some of Richardson’s accommodation options here and here.

All accommodation is self-catering, so remember to pack towels, toiletries, a few home comforts, and food and drink – unless you’re planning on visiting some of the wonderful shops, restaurants and delis along the coast!

Days out

As well as having plenty to experience on site, Richardson’s Hemsby Beach Holiday Park is the perfect base to explore all that the Norfolk coast has to offer.

Hemsby itself has a beautiful sandy beach, a selection of shops and eateries, and amusements and a fun fair at Beach Road, as well as a games arcade and outdoor adventure at Richardson’s new Family Entertainment Centre.

Great Yarmouth is just 20 minutes away and is home to stunning beaches, seafront entertainment and attractions such as the Sea Life centre and the Time and Tide Museum.

Staying for a week or more? Venture further inland to Norwich – a vibrant city perfect for history lovers, foodies and shopaholics!

Or, for some rest and relaxation, visit the beautiful Norfolk Broads. Under 20 minutes from the park, the Broads are home to rare wildlife, fishing spots, and charming towns and villages to explore. You can hire a boat from Richardson’s Day Boat Hire in Wroxham and spend the day exploring or relaxing on the water.
