A pub on the outskirts of Ipswich is back on the market - with plans to invest more than £400,000 into the venue.

The Wild Man Inn in Sproughton has been shut since January 2020 after it closed its doors.

It has remained closed to the public since, despite a brief period in August 2023 when it was announced new owners would be taking it over.

However, the pub chain behind the venue, Star Pubs, has confirmed it is now back on the market.

A spokesman for the pubs company said: “We can confirm that we are actively recruiting for a licensee to take on The Wild Man Inn in Sproughton.

"We have plans to spend over £400,000 transforming The Wild Man into a great village pub with a reputation for food."

Documents on the company's website suggest the pub can sit up to 150 covers.

Proposals to update the pub with new signage were given the go-ahead by planners at Babergh District Council in 2023.
