A lifelong Ipswich Town fan has carried out the ultimate makeover of his car as he prepares to back the Blues this weekend.

When you cut former professional boxer Billy Bird open he "bleeds blue and white", he said.

The Sudbury man has been a supporter since he was a child and has followed them home and away throughout the year.

Mr Bird, who has had a season ticket for the past two seasons, said: "I've always been Ipswich. I bleed blue and white.

"Me and dad bought the motor and we thought why not do it for the big occasion tomorrow."

Mr Bird was hoping to take the vehicle to the game on Saturday.

He had the car wrapped at Auto Innovations in Sudbury earlier this week.

However, given the car is fully electric and has a range of 40 miles he said he "will probably get it there, but I might get stuck there".

The car, which is a four seater, has been fully wrapped in the colours of Ipswich Town and with the phrase 'Up the Town' as well as the club's badge.

Mr Bird said: "I am really, really excited. It is our time to shine with back to back promotions is what we are going for.

"It is nice to see the club come from where it has been to now with new owners who love the club.

"I have been supporting them since I was a young lad and now to see them do so well is unbelievable.

"I have a lot of loyalties to the club as I used to box professionally and they used to back me all the way, and it is now like I am giving it back to them a little bit."
