Super Kieran McKenna has become the latest well known figure to be given the sculpture treatment greeting passersby in Stowmarket.

McKenna lead Town to back-to-back promotions, with the club returning to the Premier League team following Saturday's victory over Huddersfield Town.

Artist Sharon Kulesa is the one behind the creation and said she had to do it to honour the Ipswich Town manager's achievements.

She said: "I promised my husband that if Ipswich Town went up, I would put McKenna on the fence.

"That's the one he really wanted to see on the fence, he said it has to be Kieran McKenna next on the fence.

"He kept going on about it, so it got to half time on Saturday, Town were 1-0 up, and I thought there is no way they're not getting promoted now.

"I took Ed Sheeran off the fence, and quickly created a head to resemble McKenna's, stuck a coat on him and put it back on the fence."

Sharon's latest creation took around 45 minutes to complete.

McKenna joins a list of well-known names to feature on the fence, including King Charles III, Boris Johnson and Ed Sheeran.

Sharon continued: "There has been lots of love for him.

"He's a legend to the people of Suffolk, so he will be up on the fence for quite a while now to honour him and what he has done for the club."

Passers-by and Town fans will be able to see the McKenna figure on the fence on Chilton Way.
