Workers were verbally abused by members of the public, Suffolk Highways said.
Contractors for Suffolk Highways carrying out vegetation works along Friday Street in Saxmundham in east Suffolk were verbally abused on Tuesday.

Whilst undertaking this work, they have received verbal abuse from members of the public.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Highways said: "We will not tolerate this behaviour and will have no other option than to carry out the works under a full road closure if this continues. Our staff do not come to work to be treated in this way.
"There is no excuse for abuse."
