It comes after a weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain was issued for the county by the Met Office.
The warning came into place at midday on Tuesday and has been forecast until midnight the same day.
The Met Office has warned that it is safer to not drive during thunderstorms but if it is necessary, drivers should slow down, use main roads, turn on their dipped headlights and leave a larger gap between the car in front.
It is not known when B1078 Needham Road will reopen.
