A mid Suffolk town which is often overlooked by buyers has been named one of the best places to live for those who commute to London.
Stowmarket has been included in a list of the best affordable commuter towns in the UK which has been compiled by the Telegraph.
The national newspaper said the list includes towns that are often "overlooked" by buyers.
The town has good train links to the capital, with a journey time of 70 minutes to London Liverpool Street.
The average house price in Stowmarket is £252,395 and the average monthly rent is £900.
The town is also home to the award-winning café The Lakehouse and it was recently named the best in the county at an awards ceremony.
The Telegraph not only highlighted the town's transport links but its heritage as well.
"The historic market town has a medieval heart around the Church of St Peter and St Mary," it said.
"The town centre conservation area also includes elegant Georgian architecture – there are 131 listed buildings.
"The arts scene is strong. The Regal cinema and theatre shows films, concerts and comedy and the volunteer-led John Peel Centre for Creative Arts hosts poetry readings and dance recitals."
