A village restaurant could add another accolade to its name after being shortlisted for a top food award.

The Nation's Curry Awards is returning for its third year to celebrate the country's diverse culture and continued growth in the hospitality industry.

A number of UK restaurants, takeaways and chefs have been shortlisted across a variety of categories in the 2025 awards.

Chequers Indian Lounge in Great Blakenham has been nominated for Outstanding Restaurant of the Year.

Speaking after the award win, owner Nasir Jilani said: "Being acknowledged at the Nation's Curry Awards is truly an honour.

"Despite a relatively brief period, we've managed to establish a remarkable reputation through diligent efforts and an unwavering commitment to excellence."

Winners of the Nation's Curry Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester in February.
