A football club in Suffolk is set to get a new supporter stand after planning permission was approved.

A 100-seater stand will be installed at Halesworth Town Football Club after East Suffolk Council granted permission.

The structure will be located to the west side of the main pitch at the club's ground in Dairy Hill.

In a covering letter when plans were submitted in September, it said the stand is one of the requirements of the league which it has been promoted to.

It said: "With this in mind it is very important for the club's continued growth and success."

The stand will be used on matchdays generally on Saturday afternoons through the football season of August to April from around 1.30pm to 5pm.

The team is currently in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North league alongside other Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex based football clubs.
