Search the Public Notice PortalPlans to nearly double a logistics park have been objected to by Suffolk County Council, with leaders fearing traffic could be increased by a "concrete jungle".
Suffolk County Council has issued a holding objection to the planned expansion of Port One in Great Blakenham, near Ipswich.
The proposed expansion is for a 283-acre application site (1,146,536 sq.m), which would see the park nearly double from its current 150 acres and could create some 3,500 jobs.
However, SCC's objection states that plans have not fully considered sustainable travel and connectivity.
The letter says: "We are concerned that the proposed roundabout access onto Bramford Road will significantly increase traffic volumes on the B1113 Bramford Road.
"Although a large number of the anticipated vehicle trips will be HGV movements, there will also be a very significant number of employee trips that can be mitigated by high-quality sustainable travel infrastructure and improved public transport.
"These matters will need to be addressed, along with the provision of access and movement plans in order to make the proposal acceptable."
Meanwhile, Suffolk County Councillor for the area, Chris Chambers, says he hopes changes include "safer roads, better active travel links, and proper mitigation for local communities".
He said: "Essentially, villagers are concerned this could turn the place into a concrete jungle.
"This is principally about the impact on the area and monitoring traffic.
"I'm confident that Mid Suffolk will take note of what we are saying and ultimately, this is their decision to make.
"Therefore, it is a real challenge to the Green administration's green credentials. "
The application now has 42 public objections, with wildlife and impact on road infrastructure being the main concerns of people living in the area.

Andrew Stringer, Mid Suffolk Cabinet Member for Heritage, Planning and Infrastructure, said: "As with all planning applications, Mid Suffolk listens to consultees and tries to balance this along with national and local policies.
"These policies insist that nature and biodiversity are strong considerations.
It is respect for nature that will be key in supporting or rejecting development on sensitive sites such as this."
Port One and the applicant Curzon De Vere have been approached for comment.
