Ipswich Town took a point from their 1-1 draw against Preston North End at Portman Road. Alex Jones provides his player ratings.
Christian Walton
Made a big save to deny Alfie Devine but Ipswich conceded from the resulting corner. He did well to save Lewis Gibson's first effort but pushed it straight back out to him. Could he have done better? Perhaps, but the players in front of him should have cleared the danger. 6
Darnell Furlong
Some nice bits of link-up play going forward but continued to lose Devine down the left, who has plenty of chances to score. 5
Dara O'Shea
Had loads of time on the ball but couldn't pick the lock to get Ipswich into goalscoring opportunities. Didn't look convincing when Preston attacked. 5
Cedric Kipre
Could have won it with a late header and had other chances to score from set pieces. Felt nervous on the ball and was caught out on a couple of occasions. 5
Leif Davis
Linked up well with Clarke and Mehmeti ahead of him but didn't have a lot to do in the final third. Daniel Jebbison exposed big gaps behind him at times, which led to Preston chances and the corner for their goal. 5
Azor Matusiwa
Bypassed too easily at times. Felt like Preston tried to wind him up and he tried his best to stand up to the physical challenge. Seen better from him, but not a poor performance. 5
Jens Cajuste
Started well, with slick movement and neat passes into space, but soon faded and started to throw his arms around when things didn't go Ipswich's way. 5
Wes Burns
Ipswich didn't get the ball to him enough. He showed promising glimpses when given space on the ball, but Preston didn't allow him a lot of it. 5
Anis Mehmeti
Ipswich's liveliest attacker for much of the game. Played as a no.10 that operated as a half winger, drifting from side to side. Felt like he was central to everything Ipswich did going forward. Room for improvement, especially with his set pieces, but a strong debut. 6 (Man of the Match)
Jack Clarke
Didn't have his usual impact until the very end of the game, where he was fouled for the penalty - which he scored - and could have won another spot kick. Showed some lively bits but they mostly came towards the latter stages. 6
Ivan Azon
Found it hard to make a huge dent in Preston's back line but had little to work with, Did the other stuff well - dropping deep and linking play with some nice touches. Brought off at the break with a headache. 6
Substitute: George Hirst (46')
Unfortunately, his second half display will only fuel the feeling that Ipswich need to sign a striker before deadline day. Missed a great chance to open the scoring, which he fired well wide. Saw a shot cleared off the line. At least he was involved, but his confidence doesn't seem to be there. 5
Substitute: Jack Taylor (65')
Drew a couple of fouls. Was better suited for the end of the game than Cajuste. 6
Substitute: Sindre Walle Egeli (65')
Created a chance when Ipswich were knocking on the door, but wasn't hugely involved in the late flurry of chances, most of which came from the left. 5
Substitute: Ben Johnson (78')
A more attacking alternative to Darnell Furlong, delivering good crosses into the box. Looks like he still has a part to play this season. 6

Forced a sharp save from Dai Cornell. Good to see him back and involved. 6
