Two restaurants have been recognised at a national awards ceremony celebrating the best of UK curry culture.
The Chequers Indian Lounge and its sister restaurant Jilani in Sudbury were honoured at the Nations Curry Awards 2026, held in Huddersfield, which celebrate excellence across the UK’s curry industry.
The Great Blakenham restaurant won fine dining restaurant of the year, while Jilani received an outstanding achievement award in the local restaurant of the year category.

Mr Jilani, the founder, said: "These award wins are a true reflection of the hard work, commitment and passion shown by our teams every day.
