Yum Yum Tree Fudge in Woolpit taken over by sisters

Marina Veal and Jennifer Redington-Scott now run Yum Yum Tree Fudge, based in Woolpit, near Bury St Edmunds, after its previous owners decided to hand over the reins of the company and retire.

The pair have both worked for the business, which was launched in 2009 by Adrian and Lily Turner, for a number of years.

And they say they have "no plans" to change the ethos of the brand, which prides itself on being environmentally friendly.

"In June last year, Adrian said he wanted to retire and wanted to know if we wanted to buy the company, and we said 'yes'," they said.

"We are not planning on changing the ethos of the company.

"Not a lot will change. It does not need to change."

The company has a total of four employees working alongside Marina and Jennifer, two of whom work at its factory at Woolpit Business Park, just off the A14, and two of whom sell at markets the company visits.

It also has franchise companies in Norfolk and Surrey.

It is planning on developing new flavours to go alongside its already eye-catching selection, which includes chilli chocolate, lemon chilli and lavender fudge.

"We have a very close relationship with our customers," they added.

Free tours of its factory, which has solar panels on its roof as part of a drive to be as environmentally friendly as possible, will continue to be offered to customers.

Marina and Jennifer have also confirmed the company will continue to accept bitcoin, after it was launched as an option for payment in 2021.

The business was essentially set up by Adrian and Lily Turner 17 years ago, before moving to Woolpit Business Park around six years ago.
