One of the country's busiest airports is set to increase the price people will pay to drop off their loved ones.

Stansted Airport announced that from Thursday, March 19, they will be increasing the charges for the Express Set Down area.

For stays up to 15 minutes, it will rise to £10, and stays over 15 minutes will now be £28, with a maximum stay of 30 minutes.

The previous costs were £7 and £25, which is a 30% and 12% increase, respectively.

Stansted says that its Express Set-Down area, located just outside the airport, is "best for a quick drop-off".

Free drop-off remains available in the Mid Stay Car Park, where people can take the shuttle bus to the main terminal.

The pre-booked parking options at Stansted remain unchanged, with them saying they "continue to offer the best value for customers planning ahead."
