A new roundabout for the A12 is set to open at the start of next week, ahead of a new bypass opening next year.
The new Friday Street roundabout is planned to open on Monday, March 30, following a weekend closure to finish work.
This is being built as part of ongoing infrastructure work by Sizewell C, who plan to open the Two Villages bypass in Spring 2027, to reduce traffic in Farnham and Stratford St Andrew.
The A12 and A1094 at Friday Street will be shut for the last time between 8pm on Friday, March 27 and Monday, March 30 at 5am.
The official diversion for it will use the A146, A143, A140, A14, A12 and vice versa. With access still available to the popular tourist destinations along the Suffolk coast.
Contractors are currently clearing vegetation and beginning work on the new bypass route, with it expected to open in Spring 2027.
