Thirteen parish churches have been awarded new funding to carry out vital repair work.
Grants from the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust (SHCT) will support repairs and conservation projects across the county, with the total cost of the work estimated at £593,000.
Of the 13 churches benefiting from the funding, nine are in West Suffolk and four in East Suffolk.
John Devaux, chairman of SHCT’s grants committee, said: "Three of the churches awarded grants in April have to find well in excess of £100,000 each.
"There are further churches in Suffolk which have to raise over half a million pounds in order to fund the instruction of experts and the commencement of urgent repairs.
"The sum required to safeguard this part of our heritage continues to rise inexorably year by year."
The latest round of funding, totalling £57,500, will be used for a variety of repairs and improvements.
Projects include work on roofs, towers, ceilings, walls, windows, and heating systems.
At Holy Trinity in Bungay, the grant will support alterations to allow for more community activities.
St Mary’s in Worlingworth will use the funds for a condition report ahead of work on its nationally significant font cover.
Other churches set to benefit from the funding include Bardwell, Blyford, Brockley, Copdock, Creeting St Mary, Framsden, Hepworth, Lackford, Norton, Woolpit, and Worlington.
SHCT raises funds through legacies and annual events such as the Suffolk Churches Ride and Stride Day, the Pedal & Drive vintage and classic car rally, and the Steeple to Steeple horse ride.
All three events take place on the same day and will return on Saturday, September 12.
The trust holds four grant meetings each year and welcomes applications from churches, chapels, and meeting houses of any denomination.

St Andrew, Brockley: patch leadwork on tower, vestry, porch roofs; re-lead window

St Peter, Copdock: repair tower roof and cracks; install equal access
