A book festival is set to return with two days of talks and literary events.

The Felixstowe Book Festival, now in its 14th year, will take place on June 27 and 28 at the Harvest House and promises a packed weekend of author talks, interviews, and inspiration.

Ahead of the festival, organisers hosted a cheese and wine evening at Hotel Coco as a thank-you to supporters.

Meg Reid, founder and director of the festival, said: "It was the first time we’ve been able to do this thanks to the generous sponsorship of the team at Hotel Coco."

This year’s programme features bestselling, debut, and local authors offering audiences insight into their writing processes and stories behind their latest books.

The festival opens on Friday with author and performer Blake Morrison and the Hosepipe Band at Two Sisters Arts Centre, where Mr Morrison will read from his poetry collection Afterburn.

Saturday and Sunday will feature interviews and panel discussions.

Crime writer Ruth Dugdall, who recently secured a major publishing deal with Harper Collins, will discuss the relaunch of her Cate Austin series with presenter Georgy Jamieson.

Ms Dugdall will also interview Sarah Vaughan, author of Anatomy of a Scandal, about her latest novel Based on a True Story.

Other guests include Mary-Jane Riley, author of the Beattie Cavendish mysteries, and Sarah Perry, whose new book Death of an Ordinary Man explores themes of family, care, and love rather than grief.

Ms Reid said: "There are plenty more authors to meet for all tastes of both fiction and non-fiction."

Simon Barnes will present his book How to Fly, which explores the wonders of flight across nature, technology, and imagination.

Festival patron Robin Ince will return with his new poetry collection Let the Quiet Ones Rise.

Tickets can be booked at www.felixstowebookfestival.co.uk.
