A new Community Interest Company (CIC) is set to be formed to fight for the future of a dilapidated railway station that has fallen into disrepair.
The Trimley Station Regeneration Project is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, June 25 at 7pm when a new CIC will be formed for the former Trimley station building.
The property has stood unused since the 1960s and is now in a poor state with tiles falling off the roof and weeds growing in between.
In May, the project team held a public event to gauge opinions on what should happen to the building, with a wildlife hub and community centre among ideas suggested.
The wildlife centre was mooted to connect the station to the nearby Trimley Marshes Nature Reserve, while a community cafe and public toilets were among the other ideas, as there is a lack of these facilities in the village.
The AGM is set to be held at Felixstowe Town Hall.
