“Treasure trove of evidence” found on a mobile phone led to a man’s arrest on suspicion of drug offences.
On Friday, August 14, police stopped 27-year-old Anthony Moura, of no fixed address, on Aubrey Drive in Sudbury.
During a search, officers found 21 wraps of cocaine, cash and a mobile phone which police said: "appeared to show just how busy his enterprise had been".
Moura was arrested and charged with drug offences.
Less than 24 hours later, on Saturday, August 15, police stopped Alexandru Banica,40, of Crown Street, Smethwick, West Midlands, in Newton Croft in Sudbury.
Officers said searches recovered drugs, cash and what they described as a “treasure trove of evidence” on his mobile phone.
He was also arrested and charged with drug offences.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear in court.
A spokesman for Sudbury and Haverhill police said: "It has been a busy week for the Sudbury Community Policing Team.
"Alongside our ongoing engagement and partnership work, we also took great delight in arresting two suspected drug dealers who have now found their way from the streets of Sudbury to a prison cell following proactive policing by officers.
"These results are another example of the ongoing work being carried out by Sudbury CPT to target those involved in the supply of illegal drugs and to keep our communities safe."
