A Suffolk engineering company has opened a new facility as it looks to increase production and create further employment opportunities in the Ipswich area.
G&M Euro Tex, part of privately owned Tex Group Ltd, has invested in a paint and shot-blasting unit in Claydon Business Park.
The company manufactures bespoke power-generation equipment for customers including utility providers, financial institutions, healthcare sites, universities and the defence sector.
It was founded in 1938.
Managing director James Long said the new facility would allow the business to make products from start to finish while maintaining greater control over quality.
He said: “The facility we’re opening is an expansion of our current capabilities. The company is growing, and we are keen to provide employment for people in the Ipswich area.
“It gives us an avenue of fabrication and manufacture that we didn’t have before, so it will help us manage our peaks and troughs through internal subcontracting.”
The new unit will enable the company to manufacture and finish a wider range of products on site, including base frames, trailers, containers, fuel tanks and road-repair equipment.

Mr Long added: “Most importantly, this investment demonstrates ambition, control and quality to our customers.
"It strengthens our ability to support further contract wins across the Suffolk site and creates new opportunities to take on additional subcontracting work in the future.”
He added that the group hoped to become “an employer of choice” and raise awareness of manufacturing growth in the area.
