Severe delays on A12 Copdock Ipswich after lorries breakdown

Traffic was backing up through Ipswich after two lorries broke down on the A12.

Suffolk police were alerted to the first broken-down lorry on the southbound stretch of the A12 near Copdock at 1.40pm on Friday.

The lorry was awaiting recovery, but traffic has now cleared.

At 3.20pm, a further incident happened on the Copdock roundabout where another lorry broke down heading southbound.

Police remained on scene at both incidents, but have now left.

Queues was stretching from the A12 at Capel St Mary to the A14 at Whitton, with increasing delays of more than 10 minutes.
