A specialist dog grooming studio has opened in Suffolk with a focus on supporting anxious and nervous pets.
Wags and Wiggles, created by 25-year-old Paige James, is the latest addition to Stonham Barns Park’s expanding retail village and offers a calming grooming environment tailored to sensitive dogs.
Ms James said: "The welfare of the dogs in my care is paramount.
"This is luxury pampering, and the dogs need to know they can trust the environment they are in.
"Many dogs feel overwhelmed by noisy salons and unfamiliar surroundings, which is why I wanted to create a grooming experience that prioritises each dog’s comfort and emotional wellbeing."
The studio operates on a one-to-one basis, ensuring each dog receives undivided attention without the distraction of other animals.
Ms James said she was inspired to launch the business after her own family dogs had negative grooming experiences.
She now owns a spaniel named Clover and is committed to ensuring her pet, and others, enjoy positive, stress-free grooming.
Ms James said: "I stop for breaks, cuddles and treats to make the experience truly enjoyable."
From Ipswich, Ms James grew up surrounded by animals thanks to her mother’s work with horses and other pets, including involvement in GB and international show jumping.
A sports science graduate from the University of Essex, she has also worked as a netball coach.
She said: "I love what I do and the dogs I groom have recovered from anxieties associated with previous grooming experiences with my care and this is my reason for training as a dog groomer.
"The rural location here at Stonham Barns Park supports the calm and peaceful grooming experience I offer."
Wags and Wiggles offers a full range of grooming services, including bathing, haircuts, nail trims and ear cleaning.
