The A1120 in Earl Soham is closed after a crash.
The incident happened around 3.30pm on the stretch of road between the Bedfield Road junction and The Street junction.
An ambulance spokesman said that a woman in her 30s driving a red Hyundai had fainted at the wheel.
Paramedics attended the scene and treated the woman, who was later taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.
Police have closed the road heading in both directions, with diversions in place via Ashfield cum Thorpe and Monk Soham.
The vehicle has been moved off the carriageway.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
