The A12 at Ingatestone in Essex will be closed overnight for five nights, heading northbound between junctions 13 and 14 from Thursday, February 19.
The closure will be in effect from 9.30pm until 5am while cracks and resurfacing work is carried out.
A diversion route will be put in place with signs, with the route leaving the A12 at junction 12 via Roman Road, along the B1002 and re-join the A12 at junction 15 via the A1016.
For lorry drivers, an alternative route leaving the A12 at junction 12 via the A1023, along the A129, A176, A129, A132 and A130, before rejoining at junction 17.
The work is dependent on weather conditions, and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
