Work continues on the £9 million A12 Ingatestone Bypass major improvement and safety scheme in Essex and is being carried out 24-hours a day, seven days a week. From Monday 9 January, two lanes of the A12 will be open in each direction during the day, with overnight single lane closures in both directions as and when required. A 24-hour 40mph speed limit, with safety cameras is in place for the safety of drivers and roadworkers.

The scheme includes the strengthening and resurfacing of the A12 and the installation of new street lighting to improve safety, on one mile (1.4km) of both carriageways between the A12/B1002 Trueloves interchange (J13) and the A12/B1002 Furze Hill interchange (J14). The scheme is due to be completed in March 2006.
