MOTORISTS faced long delays on the A12 this morning after over-running roadworks caused ten mile tailbacks.
One lane was closed on the London bound carriageway between junction 23 at Kelvedon and junction 22 at Witham.
Overnight roadworks, which were due to be removed by 7am, had over-run. The lane was finally opened at 8am, but traffic continued to queue.
The road was clear and running smoothly by 10am although traffic is still subject to a 50mph limit imposed for the period of the works.
