A crash on the A133 sliproad linking the road to the A120 westbound had closed the road.
The incident caused severe delays as motorists were forced to use alternative routes along the length of the A133 towards Frating.
The crash involved an overturned van.
The Essex Traffic Control Centre is reporting the road has now re-opened, but delays may remain.
