There is ongoing work to strengthen the pier supports of Pesthouse Lane bridge, between J51 and J52, and Felixstowe Road bridge, between J57 and J58, near Ipswich. Work started on 19 March for approximately 15 weeks. The work affects 1.1 miles (1.8 km) of both carriageways of the A14 in both locations. Two narrow lanes will operate during the day, with one lane closed overnight. A temporary 40mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the work enforced with fixed safety cameras.
