A man had to be freed from the Jaguar car he was driving following an incident on the A14 involving a horse box, which blocked the road in a westbound direction.
Police confirmed that the man, who had to be cut free from his vehicle by fire crews, had sustained only minor injuries.
The two horses travelling in the horse box were not injured but had to be transferred to another vehicle. Emergency services including two ambulances were called to the scene just after 8.10pm.
Police closed the stretch of road between the B1113 Claydon interchange and the junction with the A140 at Needham Market.
