A man was flown to hospital in a critical condition after he was in a collision with a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Chelmsford.
The crash happened just after 8am this morning at the junction of Springfield Road and Pump Lane.
A police spokeswoman said: “The road was closed while paramedics attended to the casualty, who was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital and is in a critical condition. It reopened at 11.30am.
“The occupants of the vehicle were left shaken but uninjured.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact officers at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk”.
