ARMED police were today called to the YMCA in Ipswich where a robbery suspect had refused to give himself up.

Armed officers and negotiators were called shortly before 8am to the YMCA, in Wellington Street.
Police had become concerned for the man's welfare after he refused to leave the building.
At 8.38am a 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery.
